| This Can't Be Happening to Me
That was my first thought. Me? 34 years old and I had the life. I thought I had the life. I was living in the Toronto area, had two great kids, a great job, going to school and was dating every weekend. It was good. Never in my life did I expect to get sick.
Never.
And it comes so fast, you wake up one morning and things with your body is just not right. You think, aww I am over tired, school, work, single mom, yes over tired. and you vow to get more sleep. Your body has betrayed you And you get sicker and sicker. |
|
In my case, it was my bladder. I had a UTI that would never go away. and I was tired. So tired. I began to cancel dates, and change my schedule so that I could sleep, and sleep. The UTI's became worse and finally the testing began. Bladder cancer, and kidney stones, and ultra sounds and catheters, on and on it went to find out just why my bladder was acting the way it was.
Meanwhile I was finding that I couldn't void, peeing was now a job, a chore, it didn't come naturally, and soon the Doctors had decided that I was to wear a catheter and leg bag.
If you don't pee, you get sick and die and I felt like I was dying.
